Zakatak Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I imagine interception will make up the largest part of gameplay, but there is enough variety in weapons to mix things up a little. What kind of operations will we be taking part in? Anything exciting planned for the missions/campaign?
Zeus67 Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 We haven't reached that stage yet, but at this time it will be a mix of: - Air defense - Air intercept - Air interdiction - Ground Support - Strategic Support (deep bombing missions). I wish we had available the Persian Gulf area so we could recreate some Desert Storm missions. Zakatak Posted October 3, 2015 Author Posted October 3, 2015 So would a Strategic Support mission be something like, say, equipping two large wing tanks and a GBU-24 so you can haul it deep into enemy territory while hiding from SAM's and air defenses? Because that sounds like it could be fun. Runway bombing would be something unique as well, which the BAP-100 is designed for.

Realistic A/G mission profile (French Air Force style) would be high-altitude penetration over SAM-free territory (manpads and AAA only), to drop 1 or 2 GBU's on a target designated by JTAC or buddy lasing (M2000D or other). With fuel tanks and A/A refueling on your way in and out. Typical from recent and on-going operations in Africa. In specific contexts, M2000C would perform low-altitude CAS over lightly-defended enemy forces: "show of force", guns and (remotely) unguided bombs. Deep penetration strike over possible SAM threat is the mission of multirole and A/G specialized aircraft (Rafale and M2000D), using GBU / AASM / SCALP. Typical from the 2011 Lybian war (Operation "Harmattan"); not a single A/G mission performed by M2000C or -5. Runway strike would be handled by Rafale / M2000D with SCALP. Or in the 1980's, by Jaguar with BAP-100. But of course DCS is a videogame, which has the great advantage of making all fictional scenarios possible :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Mud, wind and fire.
Stratos Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 But will Razbam variant ship with GBU-24 and Bap-100? I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!
Zakatak Posted October 7, 2015 Author Posted October 7, 2015 Any chance you will get to make use out of the police light for night interception? I'm sure you want to, I'm just curious if it's possible from a programming and graphical standpoint. But will Razbam variant ship with GBU-24 and Bap-100? They already said it would.
