When I try to set snapview, I do something, don't know what exactly, which change the default position reset of my track IR...

The only issue I found is to remove the snapview lua file in Saved Games\Dcs.OpenBeta...

Then, everything was good....

I don't really know what your issue is :huh: Are you trying to set a different position so when you re-center your TrackIR 5 it looks in that position? If so the best way I found was to look in game with the TrackIR 5 to where you want it to center, then pause the Track IR5 (you should the green LEDs change to red, then close DCS all with the Track IR5 paused, look in the Track IR5 software and it should give you some raw and in game values where that position is (if your looking up your pitch should be negative. You can then alter the SnapViewsDefault.lau in Program Files -> Eagle Dynamics -> DCS World OpenBeta -> Config -> Views

For example in the Su-25s, A-10s and Ka-50 I find he's always looking to low than what I'd like (I'd like to zoom in from the center and have my HUD central on the screen without having to move the camera) so I move my head upwards so the HUD is central and pause my Track IR5 I then close DCS and look in the TrackIR5 software - I read out the value for pitch (usually -10 or something) I then go into the SnapViewsDefault.lua, find the subsection for the aircraft I want to change, find the section titled in green --default view and alter the vangle as required (if I want to look up I subtract the value by the number I got in TrackIR5) so say the default vangle was -15 (looking downwards) and my Track IR5 pitch -10 (looking upwards) so I do -15 subtract -10 = -5 and then hey presto! Now it'll center where you want it! :)

I apologize for the monster reply and the maths but I hope that was what you were after,

That's interesting...

I set my default view first with the TIR off. Hit "Alt + keypad 0" to save. Turn TIR back on and its right where I set it. If a wiggle around too much I just re-centre the TIR.

Isnt this the same thing or am I missing something?

It looks like the OP wants to set snap views and accidentally set his default view.

the correct procedure is somewhere in this forum, search "snapview".

The correct procedure involves first calling the old snapview with LWin+NumX then save the new one with RAlt+num0 IIRC.

Hitting RAlt+num0 without previous selection would save the default view I think

No and yes

@NhiTrac : I know that.... In my case , there's a bug....

@ReconXPanzer : Yes nearly... But I don't remember the keys I pressed to have the problem. I con replay it... I think I pressed neither Alt Gr nor right Ctrl during set ou look snapviews (number 1 in my case). If I can redo it I tell you.

I am having issues with my track IR where When I spawn in the aircraft A-10C, the view is looking straight down at the seat. Anyone else getting this? I try to re-center but same outcome

Thanks

well, there are two fixes and they have both been discussed a few posts above:

- Center the view to your liking and press RAlt+Num0

- OR rename <saved games>/DCS.openbeta/Config/View/SnapViews.lua

The snapview file will look like this, default view is the last one:

SnapViews["A-10C"] = {
[1] = {-- player slot 1
   [1] = {--LWin + Num0 : Snap View 0
       viewAngle = 65.000000,--FOV

They even put the keyboard shortcuts to access each view, handy :D
