SharpeXB Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I can't decipher what this means in relation to the flight paths on the map. Anybody know how to read these? i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
SharpeXB Posted October 10, 2015 Author Posted October 10, 2015 Next image. How does the above diagram relate to this flight plan? I don't see Iris, Gopher, Oscar or Victor? i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
Sabre-TLA Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Do you have the Tactical Training Qualification Documentation Package installed? It's explained in the Operation Agile Spirit Exercise Briefing. MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
SharpeXB Posted October 10, 2015 Author Posted October 10, 2015 Aha. I should pay more attention to the briefing. It says "Egress route Oscar" which is FL 6,000'-7,000' i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
SharpeXB Posted October 11, 2015 Author Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) I guess I still don't get it. On TAC 18 I followed the egress route to Charlie at 6500' The briefing says the egress route is "Oscar" which looks like FL 6,000-7,000' on that diagram plus I'm following the cues on the HUD for the waypoint markers but I still got the "knock it off" for exiting the training range. Could I get a "knock it off" if my wingmen fly outside the FL. Maybe I didn't get them in formation enough? Maybe that's why Datalink is different than the other missions? I haven't had this trouble on the other ones. Damien Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 is your kollsman window on your altimeter set at 2833? Are you egressing to the north or south? -Damien
SharpeXB Posted October 11, 2015 Author Posted October 11, 2015 is your kollsman window on your altimeter set at 2833? Are you egressing to the north or south? -Damien I'm heading SE to waypoint Charle. That diagram looks like it shows the outbound traffic that's headed south or east is supposed to be at FL 60-70. I haven't adjusted anything on my altimeter in any of these missions so far. Obviously I haven't been paying much attention to that diagram I've just been following the nav waypoints and their altitudes on the HUD i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5

Obviously I haven't been paying much attention to that diagram I've just been following the nav waypoints and their altitudes on the HUD the barometric pressure adjustment on your altimeter can have a big difference in the correct altitude, causing you to be just outside the altitude parameters. At altitudes below FL180 you're supposed to set for barometric pressure. At altitudes FL180 and above, you're supposed to set your altimeter at 29.92. If you don't have your altimeter set right with the barometric pressure, your altimeter could be reading several hundred off in the proper adjusted altitude. Get in a quick mission and play around with it... You'll see how much that adjustment can mess with the altitude displayed on your altimeter and hud. Hope this helps.
SharpeXB Posted October 11, 2015 Author Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) I think I missed the radio call to check out. That's why I got failed. You need to get clearance to exit at Charlie which is different in this mission than the others.
