RogueRunner Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Using 1.5 open beta I have a short mission, scramble from the ramp to intercept a B52. So after the engine is running I flip the radar master switch to standby. Then taxi to the runway, short taxi and takeoff with a AB climb to 3000m. When I switch the radar on the CRT brightens but there is no TDC and no ground clutter return. So, is there is minimum warm up period and I somehow not allowing enough time to warm up? Regarding the CO2, when I am on the runway the level still sits around 10. After takeoff and I retracted the gear that drops to about 3. After I land there is never enough left to pop the chute. Missing something here? With the price of ammunition these days do not expect a warning shot.
Art-J Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 1) There is a warmup period. The manual of the real thing says it's between 3.5-5 minutes, but I've never measured exactly how much time we need in our simulated plane. 2) Do You remember to flip the gear lever to neutral after retraction? If You forget about it, the compressed air will leak out and won't be available for popping the chute. Some guys have also been reporting an intermittent bug where the chute doesn't quite work on their computers, but the reason for it is unknown. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
RogueRunner Posted October 11, 2015 Author Posted October 11, 2015 Yup, gear lever in the middle. I just read another thread that said only the keyboard command work now and that it's not 'p' anymore but 'c' so since I've been using a button on my hotas and when that did not work pressed 'p' I will have to retest this issue. 3 - 5 min sure makes me think I am to quick to switch it on then so will retest this again also with a longer warm up period. Thanx for the input. With the price of ammunition these days do not expect a warning shot.

unknown Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 1) ...The manual of the real thing says it's between 3.5-5 minutes, but I've never measured exactly how much time we need in our simulated plane... And the manual of our sim says:" ...Normal warm up time takes 3 - 5 minutes after which it can be in stand-by mode for the next 35-40 minutes or used when needed. Overall longetivity in the ON mode is 20-25 minutes. So, only turn the radar on when you really need it; otherwise, put it in stand-by mode..." But as you said, i've never measured it, too.
