TylerTheHottie Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Hey dudes, Ive been using the AA mode of the TGP and I was curious if there is an easier way to acquire a target then by blinding searching for it in the air. I ask because I find it hard to find the orientation of where the sensor is pointing when in the air. When in A to G mode theres a helpful icon on the HUD that moves in relation to the tgp when the tgp is soi. But this seems to be absent in the AA mode for the TGP. Any thoughts dudes?
Damien Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 What about not using the TGP? If you TMS fwd short the seeker head will go into scan mode searching a small cone out in front of the aircraft.. Just point your aircraft in the general direction of threats and fire when you lock on.
Deezle Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Set the depressible pipper to (-?)41 and that will give an indication where the TGP is pointing when boresighted in A/A mode. Hansolo Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 The depressible pipper is no. 9 in attached picture (manual page 357). You can move it up and down using the rocker switch on UFC called DEPR.
