Night Train to Georgia, AfAC has no tasking

As described in the title.

I circle the AO for 20 min and still no tasking.

It's pitch black and the FLIR has its limitations concerning spotting.

Of course my wingman has eagle eye vision and spots a mouse 20nm away. Still, I'd rather have the JTAC/AFAC call the shots.

I don't think it is a bug first of all. It took me a few "been there, seen that" rounds with JTAC to get them working.

 

First, make sure you have your radio frequencies set correctly for both JTAC and your flight.

Your altitude, distance to JTAC unit terrain masking, LOS, all these affect JTAC ability to assign targets.

Perhaps your JTAC is KIA already?

 

Test your settings by making JTAC unit invisible, ROE= Hold Fire and place it in direct LOS from the target, close enough for the laser or IR pointer, but even without LOS your JTAC will assign targets, but without marking them.

 

Check Radio frequencies (both set Option one, and perform task one)!
