G3 Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 today my son asked me something i too was wondering, that is: can't we watch the crash for longer? is it possible to extend the amount of time the crash sequence plays for once you have been shot down or made a mess of the landing, i enjoy having a look around after the fact and sometimes continuing to watch the battle unfold. once the plane i am in hits the ground, maybe half a second and then it defaults over to an aircraft still in the mission, i would like it to stay looking at the crashed wreckage for longer and perhaps be able to pan around like in the F2 view. as always any advice is much appreciated... 1
Maciver Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 I think it would be sweet to able to watch mabey 10 seconds or so after the crash, and only your wreckage. Probably couldnt be much longer though. It would end up giving away enemy positions, heading, ect... I don't mind it they way it is though, sometimes the last thing you see is the missle hitting your cockpit window..lol

As soon as you crash press CTRL-F11. The Key Commands document (KeyCommands.doc) in the Doc folder is your friend. :) This view is listed toward the bottom of the VIEW SELECTION section. But if you haven't played around with the view options, you might very well overlook its significance based on the description provided for it. G3 Posted June 18, 2006 Author Posted June 18, 2006 tried it and ctrl + f11 works a treat, exactly what we were looking for. what can i say, excellent advice backed up with an equally excellent explaination, Ironhand you are a credit to this great community, i will be looking into that keycommands.doc for any other little secrets i may have missed. around here, ask and you do receive without the usual BS, and i don't mean black shark ;) without appearing to kiss up too much, or sound like a fossil i would like to take this opportunity to say everyone here have made me feel most welcome and i enjoy the relatively mature atmosphere amoungst the forum and its members. here's to a great game and a helpful community.
Maciver Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Does it work online too? I just assumed it didn't because of no externals. lol
Ironhand Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Does it work online too? I just assumed it didn't because of no externals. lol Not unless the externals are turned on unfortunately. What's really funny sometimes online, however, is that I've died and the view has defaulted to an F2 of the a/c that shot me down instead of F-11. If I was mean spirited, I could use Teamspeak to vector in friendlies and exact me 'revenge' vicariously. :) Rich YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU1...CR6IZ7crfdZxDg _____ Win 11 Pro x64, Asrock Z790 Steel Legend MoBo, Intel i7-13700K, MSI RKT 4070 Super 12GB, Corsair Dominator DDR5 RAM 32GB.
omgamibig Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 If you don't mind messing with config files, also give this a try: ExplosionExpoTime = 4.0; It's found in LockOn/config/view/view.cfg and LockOn/config/view/view.lua
Shaman Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 When online, and external views are OFF, when you get shot down and your plane blows up you immidiately are movied to F11 view over Sevastopol (I guess it was Sevastopol). What would be nice is some sort of death-cam that follows the debris and flame/smoke trails. 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
