Exorcet Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Testing the new hotfix, I'm seeing a negative hit to FPS. On average, the FPS is fairly good (numbers similar to before the patch), but I keep getting stuttering. With the FPS counter on, it looks like I occasionally drop about 10 FPS (from 40-60 max average). Sometimes it's much worse and my frames can be cut in half. It is not the window mode issue, as the stuttering persists whether I alt Enter or not. I'm flying missions I made previously in 1.5 as well. danilop Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) I'm capped to 60 FPS, both in autoexec.cfg and adaptive sync in NVidia CP, and have solid 60 FPS (couple of dips in to 55-57 range when GPU is switching textures as my beta installation is not on SSD) throughout the track you've posted, with max GPU utilization of 52% running Mustang no tree shadows mod, depth of field and civ traffic off, everything else on HIGH with MSAA at 8x, and Anisotropic Filtering at 16x. Smooth! And my system is far, far away from high end - it is even under recommended spec level for DCS 1.5 (GTX780 or better, 16GB RAM): I5-4670K @ 4.4, GTX 770 2GB @ 1920x1200 and 8GB RAM I know that you don't want to hear this, but your GPU is a little bit on the weak side. 660M chipset is not going to cut it in DCS 1.5(2.0), if smooth game play at decent eye candy level is desired. Mainstay Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 What helped me alot is setting : CIV traffic to OFF Display res 512 I was having huge FPS dips when i had Display res on 1024 and civ traffic on. Especially in the Blackshark when using the display and shooting the Vikhr missiles. After setting both options to the above settings no more stutterings. I havent changed anything in my nvidiacontrol settings. Only thing that bothers me is that hotfix 3 seem to bring fps down in areas where hotfix 2 didnt have these issues at all. Also SLI is still not working like it should.

Czar66 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) 670 GTX here and huge problems with fps after hotfix 3. :\ @theropod, yeah, maybe I'm having the same as you. CPU and GPU load averaging lower than 70% i5 4590, 8gb ram Attatchment green for GPU load, blue green ish for CPU load. Tested whole computer after throttling. No throttling on GPU neither on CPU. All other games fine. Problem started after hotfix 3. Edited October 27, 2015 by Czar66 more informations

Don't worry, I plan to upgrade. I know I can't get monster performance on my laptop, the main concern was loss of performance compared to previous patch. Today, I'm getting better FPS. Sporg Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I don't know if it helps, but I basically removed my stutters in DCS by forcing HPET timer on Windows 7. Using i7 2600K @ 4.4 GHz and GTX 670. Even with hotfix 3 I have no stutters, albeit it still cost me FPS especially in Mig 21. Dsecription in my post here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2526575&postcount=22 PS I also use Alt-Enter to force fullscreen, that helps a bit too. Ocelottr Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 I have the same exact experiences after Hotfix 3. I've tried the patch before Hotfix 3, and it works smoothly without any hitching or stuttering. Hotfix 3 made my framerate tank down a lot, and at the same time causes a lot of stuttering and input lag (which delays input by 0.2-0.5 seconds). i7 4770K + GTX970SLI - Win 10

BitMaster Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 dunno if it fits to you but I have 1/3 fps if I forget to ALT-ENTER to FullScreen. apart from that, fps are superb evren with all damn shadows at high/on :) ...it's slowly getting there Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X
howie87 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Weirdly I get stuttering too after the update. FPS counter says 80-90 FPS but it feels like 15 FPS for a reason I can't explain. It just doesn't make any sense but looks awful.

howie87 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I'm on a 2500K @ 4.0 GHz with 8GB of ram with a a GTX 770 and am getting pretty bad stuttering even at 1440x900 resolution and with a high 'reported' frame rate in game. It isn't smooth though. Worst in the MiG-21.
Allesmor Obranna Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 +1. GTX 660Ti. With Hotfx 2: no problem, with Hotfix 3: shuttering.

BitMaster Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 strange, we all somehow are way above 4GHz, have plenty RAM and some have stutter and some dont with similar setups. HPET on or off might be it for some but I guess the problem is somewhere else in the machine/driver mix. Freakin' happy I run this Gsync setup and stutter is a thing of the past. Latency and Interrupts misfiring seem to be the culprit, just what causes it... nigelmcelwee Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I concur. On another thread I posted same thing. Stutters post-patch. Pre-patch, everything smooth as silk running 60 FPS at high settings no issue. Post-patch, not a slideshow...just intermittent stutters and framerate fluctuations dropping up and down for a split second which causes the stutters. BitMaster Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 as a note, I run Win10 Pro 64bit Fast Ring, so I might have a newer built than most others in here. If that matters, HECK..I dunno The newest built doesnt show the build number anymore, so that's where my Win10 is right now.
