Could someone please direct me to any videos or tutorials on how to set up profiles on the X52 using the Mad Catz software.

There are one or two on YouTube but they're not detailed at all and have nothing to do with DCS.

I have gone through the manual and it's just as confusing as sitting there and trying to figure it out by myself.

I'm amazed that a company that makes such a complicated piece of hardware offers so little in the way of instruction. :(

Thanks guys!

just download a profile and open it and look how it works.. also look on the Internet for manuals, videos, etc..

Saitek is the absolute worst of the worst. When it comes to their stick design, reliability, and well not entirely surprisingly documentation. But their products are cheap, and get the job done. Im afraid you are going to have to experiment and figure it out on your own.

Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.

This sounds more like an opinion than a fact. I have been using the X52 Pro for nearly 3 years with no problems at all. The programming software takes time to learn like any software but has also worked without a flaw for me. When I decided to take my time and go step by step I learned what I needed to know from the provided documentation. I remember trying to install JSGME 3 times with no luck thinking the instructions were inadequate. Then I decided to slow down and read them carefully taking things step by step and it worked perfectly. If mine broke today I'd buy another one. PM me if I can be of any help.

Sure it's an opinion. I too have an X52, and indeed am still using it's throttle quadrant. Like I said it's cheap and gets the job done. Thats a fact. Have you tried any other HOTAS products on the market? I have. That's where my opinion is coming from. If mine broke today I would not buy another SAITEK unless I was seriously strapped for cash.

Trust me, I took the time to read everything. I didn't rush through it at all. Not being hard headed, it's just not very detailed. It goes from:

file:///C:/Program%20Files/SmartTechnology/Manuals/SST_Manual_EN.html

Which in and of itself is not very detailed. To:

file:///C:/Program%20Files/SmartTechnology/Manuals/advanced_EN.html

And nothing in between.

And there was this:

This blew my mind. Between the "music" and the insanity, I just sat there with my jaw in my lap...lol.

I like the X52. Works great for me. The instructions for SST software is just not well thought out in my opinion. And yes.....all of this stuff is opinion. I'll get it figured out. I usually do. I was just seeing if anyone here had some input or experience.

I appreciate the feedback guys.

I never bother with profiles etc for my X52

Tried a few when I first got it for Elite Dangerous and DCS but could never find a decent one

I looked at making my own but I found the SST software very counter intuitive, in my opinion its easier and quicker to just open DCS and sort out control method/bindings there.

A forum user here "Pikey" talked me through his X52 A10 control combo and I use that and have used Charlie Owls guides to help me with the rest of my aircrafts setups.

I have them noted down in an A4 pad and even after a full reinstall of my PC an DCS it took me no more than 10 mins to fully redo my A10C controls.

And lo, Reverend Vegas did say "Take forth unto the infidel the mighty GAU 8 and expend its holy 30MM so that freedom will be brung upon them who knoweth not the joys of BBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTT"

Yeah....I get ya on that. I was just looking into the profile setup for exactly what you wanted it for. I want the A10 to be as efficient as possible. I have plenty of buttons and sliders on the X52 for all other AC (maybe not the Mi8 ) Just the A10 can get overwhelming in tight situations if you don't have it set up well. I'll have to check into these guy's setups that you mentioned if I can.

And yes....profiler seems counter intuitive to me also. But I believe that this is only because there is no good instruction on it. I found the A10 counter everything the first day I tried it. But there was tons of great info on it on both YouTube, and these forums and it soon became much easier to deal with. :smartass:
