So, it could well be the figures shown in the DCS World diagnostics are out. If other tools show different numbers, we'd be wrong to assume anything.

Maybe it is just a reporting error you're seeing, and not memory leakage. Especially if it is showing it's using more VRAM than you possess.

If your DCS World runs without any problems, why are you worried about it? If you're having issues then that's an entirely different matter of course. Just out of curiosity, was the OP having issues apart from the numbers reported?

I think DCS what DCS reports as "VRAM" is in fact all memory used for rendering, including the amount of system RAM where all extra textures get loaded.

I run on 8GB system plus 3GB card and traditional HDD, when in-game counter goes above ~8, the HDD page file crunching begins - that would confirm this "theory".

I think it is better to take 8 GB GPU if someone is going to upgrade PC in this year.

Of course nVidia.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

I think they need to optimize the texture...

Because +5gb of vram above desert is *****

Don't worry the lower end of the pascal gpu will have 16 gb vram

I hope so ^^^^^

I am at the front of the PC change, don't know if whole or just GPU yet.

Anyway my minimum level is 8 GB VRAM - now have 1 so it is PITA.
