Radio Comms issue on Huey (VHF AM) 1.5.1

I cannot seem to connect to the tower on the VHF AM radio. I have my HOTAS key bound to the MAIN comms popup. I tune the VHF AM to the tower freq, turn the radio on, switch the radio dial to VHF AM (number 3 on the dial) and send a radio message to startup but I dont get a response.

Am I missing something here?

Have you assigned Pilot radio trigger radio as opposed to pilot radio trigger intercom on the INS cyclic stick control options

It should say AM or FM or UHF iirc

Just checked above is correct for comms using the rotary to change radios and activated by radio trigger radio

ill have to check my key assignment to make sure that the comms is setup correctly. I dont see FM, AM, or UHF. I only see the Main at the top.

I just wanted to jump in hear to hijack this thread a little instead of starting a new one... I haven't used the radio much at all so far but plan on doing so soon as it's one of the last systems I'm trying to learn (after all, blowing stuff up is a lot more fun than talking to people on a radio. :) ) One question I have is are you able to communicate with the towers while in flight? I've noticed that when I'm starting up at an airfield, I can talk to the tower but as soon as I'm airborne the radio menu is unavailable. I'm assuming it's because I've done nothing with the radio dials and need to. I tried autostarting to see if that would make things different but it doesn't. I want to learn how to use this because of using a lua script that has menu radio options that I'd like to be able to use while flying. Thanks.

Just uploading a quick video to hopefully help out:)

Cibit, mate, that was sooo helpful! Despite having read a bit now that helped put it all together for me. I was initially embarrassed to discover my first mistake was forgetting to set up a switch for the radio...:megalol::doh: Now I can trigger my targets and flights while in the air in my Nevada multi-module training/touring mission I'm working on. Thanks again for taking the time to do that.
