joebloggs Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Does anyone know if there's any Team Speak server where fellow pilots can just hop on and learn the ropes with one another? I want to start practicing with other Guys, but don't know where to look. Don't want anything too serious as I like to have a laugh now and then. However, I can be serious when doing coops together and things like that.
joebloggs Posted November 26, 2015 Author Posted November 26, 2015 So no TeamSpeak Newbies to learn things together? I think something like this would be good for online play. I'd like to learn things with other players rather then sit reading a manual and playing on my own for hours on end.
Blooze Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 You might try registering at SimHQ and check their Teamspeak server on a regular basis. There are usually a few DCS pilots on that fly coop missions but whether or not it's a fit for you may depend on your time zone and what aircraft you fly. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Pikey Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 There used to be a community TS someone was doing their best to upkeep, im not sure it was well visited as once you step up a person providing TS for people playing online and providing answers for them, then you accidentally became just that; a multiplayer group. I'd personally really recommend looking around, not all the squadrons are unable to accept scratch starters, also try the aerobatics ones, they used to have a TS, the chat tended to go there. Some other places like TAW encourage joining their TS whilst playing. You can slip into the multiplayer scene like that. At a certain stage you will make the jump and not look back. If you are up to scratch on a module like an A-10C and have mostly nailed most of the normal stuff from the tutorials you are probably ready for the majority of typical places anyway. Finally, we have a cadet program on 4 of the modules, essentially we ask for some effort on your end, like all things its give and take. The nature of this beast is that it actually does take some effort and this can put people off. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
BaconSarnie Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 The cadet program set up by Pikey at 42VFG works, I'm a member of it who has now progressed from cadet to pilot. As Pikey says though you need to put the effort in or it just wont work, if you aren't afraid of a little hard work and a few tests then its worth it. I couldn't be happier. I now get to fly with a small but expanding group of friendly, patient and above all competent pilots on some pretty great missions, designed in house most of the time. And lo, Reverend Vegas did say "Take forth unto the infidel the mighty GAU 8 and expend its holy 30MM so that freedom will be brung upon them who knoweth not the joys of BBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTT" "Amen"
