Hi a mission I put together using the ARK UD to navigate to a group of soldiers cut off in hostile territory.

Overview

Separatist forces continue to attack the military and police in the East of our region

A small recon unit was hit by RPG and small arms fire from the town of Ordzhonikdzevskaya to the South East of our home base of Mozdok. It seems we have found their lair.

We are sending all available resources to engage enemy fighters in the area. A four ship flight of SU34's will scramble immediately and a pair of MIG29's are flying CAP. A heavy bomber is being diverted to launch cruise missiles.

We understand from the initial report the rebels have some helicopters supporting infantry. We have lost all communication now with the patrol and fear the worst. If they are ok and follow procedure the personal locator beacon should guide you to them when your close enough. Your wingman is armed to assist you but you go without weapons as your carrying the MERT team to stabalise any wounded.

Red Task

Tune your ARK UD to channel 1 of the UHF station and head south east on a bearing of 140 degrees until you pick up the transmission.

Use your wingman to engage if your fired upon. A pair of KA-50's should be leaving Beslan at the same time as your flight leaves Mozdok. Wait till they are engaging before landing to extract. (Use F7 menu for extraction)

Your extraction time is 17.25 to give CAS an opportunity to clear you a path

Tuning the ARK 9 to 525 kHz will get you back to Mozdok outer beacon

Hope you like it, Please leave feedback. Don't expect endless replay-ability but do take care to keep out of the area before the CAS gets to work. TOT is important

Cibit, thanks for sharing this mission! I've yet to really get into the Mi-8... something about that darn Huey keeps calling me back. The few times I did fly her I found my Huey habits were messing me up. LOL Hopefully this and a couple of other missions that have been waiting for me to try will get me going. Thanks again!

Ahahah it happens to me all the time. I fly both... whenever I change the chopper, i need to re-start my brain. And takes couple of flights ( or more). But trying to do a difficult flight, stationary fligths and so on, without the warming up is quit difficult!

The UH is my rifgth eye... the Mi8 is my letf one!!! Impossible to decide! Better enjoy both!
