[OLD ATC] Runway takeoff and landing too generic?

When taking off from Nellis or landing for that matter they tell me to land runway 5 or runway 21...well which one. 3R? 3L?? 21R? Will this be corrected for multiple runways at some point?

I'd go 3R if you are expended, and 3L if you have hung or in expended ordance. That would be closest to the real world, as I believe the hit pads are on the left side of Nellis.

its the same old system as before...not very immersive but I use it to keep it as close to real as possible. Cant wait for the new system. I'm curious to see how ATC will be handled.

How are you getting comms for Nellis? When I dial in the channel (132.55) I only get to choose from Groom Lake, Creech or McCarren...don't get Nellis to choose from the ATC list.

Me too actually. I think because I don't know the tower frequency, but it does show on my ATC list.

I can contact the tower, but in the 15 or so flights I have done in NTTR, I have never received clearance to take off after I request for it. Has anyone else experienced this?

 

the tower freq is 125.00 in the VHF AM for those who want to know the Nellis freq. I have never received takeoff clearance either so I just taxi on the runway and it will clear me then.

would be nice to have real frequencies from NDB / TACAN too.

so we could use realworld Jeppesen chart for arrival and departure for nav training

 

In Huey there's only one NDB usable so far.

 

for departure "MESA" from NELLIS for example

 

A nice realistic ATC, multiplayer compatible,with AI civil trafic would be much more enjoyable.

yeah the charts online are kind of useless since the tower frequencies don't match up. Navigating with the Huey is all dead reckoning at this point because I cant even get it to tune to a VOR.
