jcbak Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Forgive my ignorance but....elevating the BS Map from T3 to T4. What does that mean for the end user? Would there be any visual differences? BaconSarnie Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 It means it will be able to be used with 2.0 as its a different engine, the current map is not compatible in its current state. And lo, Reverend Vegas did say "Take forth unto the infidel the mighty GAU 8 and expend its holy 30MM so that freedom will be brung upon them who knoweth not the joys of BBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTT" "Amen"
Eight Ball Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 (...)Would there be any visual differences? I asked the same question a few days ago and this what Skatezilla answered The "Pretty" features were part of DX11/EDGE Update. The Terrain Engine is more along the lines of underlying infrastructure (Files, Paths, Formatting, DRM Protection, etc etc) Find The Links To All My Mods And Liveries Here (in the gallery)

Raven68 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I asked the same question a few days ago and this what Skatezilla answered Yeah, I have been curious about this conversion process myself. I wonder how long they expect it to take. I know it's not an easy task and I feel alpha could take a few months if this is main driver before declaring a beta. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad ED honored the alpha access to NTTR to satisfy the paying customer. I am just intrigued with all the projects in the pipe line and love to understand the process. There was somewhere a mention about few weeks to squash bugs before hitting beta. That would mean the conversion is pretty far along already and needs to work out things that have all kinds of subtle changes. For example, without sea on the map you can't use all units there, which airfields can be considered "neutral" in mission generation and so on. For example, without sea on the map you can't use all units there, which airfields can be considered "neutral" in mission generation and so on. That's a pretty good perspective on the scope of work that may be involved now. In the back of my mind I do feel like they are already pretty far along, but ED is the greatest mystery machine I know in "gaming" software development.
