Capn kamikaze Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I've been getting into building missions recently for the F-15, possibly to build a campaign, and I've noticed that AI F-15's not under my control (other flights) will fly right through a SAM engagement zone to attack Russian aircraft dozens of miles away, and get shot down. The SAM's in question are SA-15's and SA-19's, so it is possible to either fly round them or over them at high altitude, but the AI seems to want to dive down to about 8000ft, and then right through the middle of them with predictable results.
Capn kamikaze Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 Oh and I have set waypoints to avoid the site, and the targets they're going after are at 30,000ft.
Capn kamikaze Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 Right I've found out why they're doing it, they're trying to attack a pair of Su-25's that are on the ground at the airbase, so obviously the AI knows they're there, but since the F-15's are C model's, then why would they still attack, F-15E's would make sense since they have the right sensors, and have A-G ordinance, but these F-15's are still trying to attack them. It just happened to be that the aircraft I thought they were going after, which they're supposed to go after, are on the same bearing as the airbase, even so, this AI behavior is odd.
mytai01 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Real F-15C's will attack a valid target of opportunity, even on the ground. If that's within their mission profile. But, they wouldn't do it stupidly! Sryan Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 maybe you can set up a ROE to only allow them to attack designated targets. You'll then have to set up search and destroy for the targets you want them to attack. Check my F-15C guide
