Trackir 5 settings

I purchased the trackir 5, but i have no idea how to make it work with DCS

Do i have to set up a profile for each plane?

I do play mostly with F15 C from Flaming Cliffs 3

Can someone upload the profile, please?

You have to set it up to your own personal preference

Don't expect it to work flawlessly OTB, you'd have to take it slow and learn to use it. It can take a few weeks.

I disabled the zoom from TrackIR and now after i assigned F11 and F12 for zoom in slow / zoom out slow, they arent working.

Any ideas ?

for myself, I searched for a ready profile and used the attached for all planes.

 

give it a try (extract the file and place it in C:\Program Files (x86)\NaturalPoint\TrackIR5\Profiles or the location you installed TrackIR)

I think by default TrackIR uses these keys and "traps" them so that other programs can't. Go into the TIR software and either assign different keys (to Precision, Pause and Centre), or disable these altogether. Personally i only use Centre and have it assigned to Caps Lock.

I use Center as well. I made it work, but now i will have to learn how to use it

Anyway, it feels much much better with TrackIR.

By the way : i'm using theTrackHat. For the sensor sensitivity, which one is better ? I didnt notice any differences.

I have center and pause assigned to a couple of buttons on my Warthog throttle.

I find I do not need to use the center button all that much anymore, at least not like I did in some previous versions of TIR. The TIR5 software seems to do a much better job in keeping thing centered during the course of use. Occasionally I will need it, and a quick press on the throttle button I have assigned takes care of that. Once I first get into the cockpit I center it of course.

 

Pause I do use, mainly whilst flying over a longer distance. Sometimes I like to just lean back in my chair to relax, I can quickly pause the camera - the Hat on my joystick then becomes the POV, I can just use that if needed whilst leaned back. Or get up and go do something needed and return, whilst the camera is paused.

 

Precision I do not much care for so I do not have assigned, in previous versions I used it more, but with the TIR5 I find I really do not need it.

When i want to see the back sides of the plane ( left or right ) i have to move my head way to much.

Check your email.

 

Also make sure you select the appropriate tracking device in the software for what you are using, either the Hat Clip or Track Clip Pro.
