LtMacGowan Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 I've been following the some what lacking manual on this and it says to uncage the gyro pipper, then it starts bouncing around, and then to hit Radar target selector button - enter- all that happens is the pipper bounces around the screen and then i hit enter and it freezes wherever i hit it. I'm flying next to this huge Anatonov cargo plane and its just bouncing around, i kept hitting enter trying to get a radar lock but nothing can some one please explain what im doing wrong?
Teknetinium Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 (edited) Hold the radar button when you are pointed at you target, then release it. If pipper becomes as big as aircraft's wingspan you aim at means there's a good return. ground clutter block your radar to get a good return. grant977 Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Hope I'm not hijacking this but let me see if I have the proper procedure down. You hold down the electrical cage until you behind the target and you get a red light then release electrical cage and then piper should be wingspan size?

Make sure the pipper is over the target before releasing the electrical cage though. Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!

Sounds very complicated... what about when engaging in a knight dogfight with a very agile plane like a Mig15... it just seems very cumbersome to go through the hole precedure. I am having problems with the radar sight as well... it's working very slow for me and by the time it's working I can't shoot since I have a very limited window... It would be very nice if someone could post a A-Z guide on how to use the radar guns on the Sabre...

The G stability for a solution is the real kicker. An article on SimHQ mentioned that some pilots preferred the old manual sights, so you're probably not alone.

If you're in a knife fight, you can just cage the sight again (probably electrically rather than actually lock it) and use it as a fixed sight. Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!

Exactly what I was doing... for me the radar sight is simply not reliable even for a non maneuvering target, it's so inconsistent bouncing all over and only tracking once I get really really close to the target often not giving me enough time to react. By the way I'm playing the Alpha 2.0 could this have something to do with this?
