dburne Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Last night, I made a new profile (just as a test) using the basic mode Oh and PS: Dangit, you are not listening to me! I told you not to even bother with the basic mode, go ahead and start with advanced mode. Way more possibilities. You have too much knowledge already with your experience to play with Basic Mode! That's the kiddie pool LOL. dburne Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Lol, just trying to steer you on the straight and narrow! One nice feature with TARGET: As you are building a profile, especially if one is using the script editor, you can save and run it as you go. Now if there are any errors in the code whatsoever, it will generate an error and the profile will not run. In addition, it will highlight the line number that is generating the problem code. Now that is not always accurate, but usually if not it is pretty close. But the profile will not successfully run unless it is good to go. When I am building profile with many commands, I will do this as I go rather than waiting till the end and trying to run it, and find a bunch of errors in the code... slicker55 Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 I'm going to take a look at these profiles: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1292863/ I note the guys are advising not to use them with DCS 1.5+ I'll just use them as reference material to see how they've configured everything. It should be quite a useful exercise. i7-5820K 3.30Ghz | Asus X99-S | Sapphire R290X | R7 240 | 16GB DDR4 PC4 2800MHz | Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD (OS) | Samsung 840 EVO 500GB SSD (DCS) | Noctua NH-D14 2011 Cooler | OCZ ZT 750W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular PSU | NZXT Phantom Enthusiast | 3 x IIyama Prolite E2473HDS 24" | 1 x Dell S2240T 21.5" Touch Screen | Windows 10 64-Bit | AMD Eyefinity 5760 x 1080 | TrackIR5 | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind 1771 | Vaicom Pro + VA (Licensed) | Sennheiser Game Zero | Honeycomb Yoke (June 2020)]
dburne Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I'm going to take a look at these profiles: Wussy! No I am sure that will be a good way to start, I myself am all about digging in, learning, and DIY. But I am confident you will get there some day, and will be a great asset to the community when it comes to Warthog scripting. I got the faith man! slicker55 Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 Hiya dburne, Wussy! LOL ... I've done some work on my first custom profile and it was looking quite good. I say was, because when I went into the DCS options menu, I could see the axis's had been set up but remembered the initial one's have to be cleared, re-entered and saved. So, I did what I thought was right but when I later tried to edit the profile a message popped up saying the file was corrupt in line 1. A few seconds later the whole profile just literally disappeared and I haven't seen it since! So, I started again but was more keen to resolve the Helios issue I mentioned earlier. I have now got that cracked so I'm running with the ball again... happy bunny now! Part way through rebuilding my profile again - something for me to do tomorrow whilst the wife performs her public duty - jury service (she's well impressed to be sitting on a two week trial this close to Christmas)... I wonder if they'd let her take the lappy and knock up a few more profiles for me? catch you soon... i7-5820K 3.30Ghz | Asus X99-S | Sapphire R290X | R7 240 | 16GB DDR4 PC4 2800MHz | Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD (OS) | Samsung 840 EVO 500GB SSD (DCS) | Noctua NH-D14 2011 Cooler | OCZ ZT 750W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular PSU | NZXT Phantom Enthusiast | 3 x IIyama Prolite E2473HDS 24" | 1 x Dell S2240T 21.5" Touch Screen | Windows 10 64-Bit | AMD Eyefinity 5760 x 1080 | TrackIR5 | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind 1771 | Vaicom Pro + VA (Licensed) | Sennheiser Game Zero | Honeycomb Yoke (June 2020)]
hansangb Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Also, there are Youtube videos from TM (I thought it was from them) that explains how to program it using the GUI. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1

slicker55 Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 hansangb, Thanks for this info... - very useful - the Thrustmaster Tutorial (video #2) is better than nothing but needs to go much deeper for those really wanting to exploit what this software has to offer. This kind of detail cannot be covered in sufficient details in such a short a video, it needs to be much longer and preferably accompanied by some audio. i7-5820K 3.30Ghz | Asus X99-S | Sapphire R290X | R7 240 | 16GB DDR4 PC4 2800MHz | Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD (OS) | Samsung 840 EVO 500GB SSD (DCS) | Noctua NH-D14 2011 Cooler | OCZ ZT 750W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular PSU | NZXT Phantom Enthusiast | 3 x IIyama Prolite E2473HDS 24" | 1 x Dell S2240T 21.5" Touch Screen | Windows 10 64-Bit | AMD Eyefinity 5760 x 1080 | TrackIR5 | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind 1771 | Vaicom Pro + VA (Licensed) | Sennheiser Game Zero | Honeycomb Yoke (June 2020)]
