Frisco1522 Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 (edited) I know the RIO can't actually fly, so what are the pedals there for? Frisco1522 ----Edit---- I read through one of the manuals and found this out... Left Pedal = ICS (Intercom System) Foot Button Right Pedal = MIC (Microphone) Foot Button So the new question is, why use foot pedals for this purpose? Edited December 13, 2015 by Frisco1522
NeilWillis Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Added thrust on take-off! I think you'll find they're actually foot rests, and not pedals. In high G situations every little helps!
Alicatt Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 (edited) They are also switches, one is for intercoms with the pilot the other is to transmit on the radio, can't remember which one is which at the moment EDIT: Left for intercom with pilot, right for UHF radio Edited December 13, 2015 by Alicatt more info Sons of Dogs, Come Eat Flesh Clan Cameron

So his hands are free to press buttons, flip switches and he doesnt have to keep stopping what he's doing to press a radio button. And lo, Reverend Vegas did say "Take forth unto the infidel the mighty GAU 8 and expend its holy 30MM so that freedom will be brung upon them who knoweth not the joys of BBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTT" "Amen"
Sweep Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Now now...LN, could those be axes so I can kick my pedals and yell? :D Lord of Salt
AG-51_Razor Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Added thrust on take-off! I would have thought they were for helping the pilot to stop!!! Haven't you ever tried to teach someone to drive?? :megalol: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
