The_Nephilim Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Hi All, I was wondering what the new 1.5b was using in VRam and tonight I had found out for me and my buddy.. I was getting a high of 5.9GB with an average around 5.4GB and my buddy topped out at 6.4GB.. Now whilst this would be fine if we both had 12GB VRam in our cards but we only have 4GB.. I was wondering if the VRam is supposed to be this high?? I run a TripleScreen with a res of 3072x768 my buddy runs a 1080P Res I think... but his graphics were medium and mine were high.. I do know that once you run out of vRam the Onboard Ram kicks in now this is fine to as I recently upgraded to 16GB of Ram.. but to those who are having a 2gb card and 8GB of Memory I would imagine are the ones having the issues with stuttering.. I was just wondering what kind of vRam do you get mostly.. I just thought near 6GB Was a ton of usage and should it be so high?? If so I might think about getting a different vid card but the cost of a 12GB card almost scares me.. is this ans issue like a memory leak or something or is the vram supposed to be this high?? StrayWolf Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 That sounds about right. My STRIX 980GTX w/6GB onboard RAM is maxed out whenever I run DCS. That is actually a good thing since the devs sure know their coding. It does not spill over to my system RAM. I play at 1920x1080 with everything maxed out BTW... Anyways, those with less vRAM on their video cards will suffer without a doubt. I'd say that 4GB would be MINIMUM onboard video required and 8GB system RAM is a given. Coug4r Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Now i wonder, do you still have spawnlag with that amount of memory on your card? My (gaming) videocard has 1Gb of mem and it runs 1.5 and 2.0 just fine, whenever some AC spawns i do have some serious lag though. - If man were meant to fly he'd be filled with helium.
