1.5 refuses to launch on my server that ran 1.2

I used to have my laptop running 1.2.8 as a server (Dx 11.1, i7, 8GB, 100/100 Mbit) for me and my friends and it always worked well. But now we've all moved on to 1.5, and since it's holidays and many new models has been released, I thought I'd launch the server again, but 1.5 refuses to run on it.

 

I tried 1.2.8 and it still works. Tried a fresh install, 1.5 didn't work. Reinstalled Windows 10, 1.5 still didn't work.

 

Every time I launch the game it reaches splash screen and then Windows says that DCS has stopped working.

 

Does anyone have an idea on how to solve this? I would rather not buy a new server since the laptop has been working great.

Sure! Do you need more than the system information?

 

I happen to have two almost identical laptops with the only difference of one having 6GB and the other 8GB of RAM. I'm using the 6GB one now, the other one my friend is borrowing. But I've tried all the things I mentioned in the previous post on both laptops, including completely reinstalling Windows 10. I know both computers lack a proper GPU, but that was never a problem in the times of 1.2.8, since I was not flying, only running it as a server..

 

[Edit: Is there anything implemented in DCS 1.5 that prevents the client to launch on systems that does not have a dedicated GPU?]

If so I do not think that will run DCS 1.5 You would need a dedicated gpu with 2gb ram or more

Open Windows Event Viewer,

And look under applications, should be a red or yellow icon associated with the dcs crash,

 

copy and paste contents here.

 

Also, you can search for the disable rendering command and set dcs to disable rendering.

 

as the default mainscreen has 3d rendering of clouds, you can also try changing the saved games/dcs beta/option lua to a different theme to disable the rendering.

I ran in to the same problem, there is no options.lua because the game has never been running properly on the machine. :helpsmilie:
