erjdriver Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 What's the procedure for editing DCS files? e.g. I'd like to edit the uv_26 file under mods folder i think. I edited it and saved (after modifying the permissions). Is the preferred way to copy the folder structure to the Saved Games folder. I assume if there's an update - my changes will be overwritten.

If its a .Lua then download Notepad++. Do not use the windows notepad. And yes every update overwrites the edit. Backup just in case the game doesn't start. Edited December 25, 2015 by Bewsher
Yurgon Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 I have several mini-mods that I manage with JSGME. It's pretty easy to set up, and then just create a new folder for each mod (or stuff them all together in one folder). Whenever your changes are overwritten, enable the mod again and you're done. Not at my PC right now, but if you encounter any obstacles, I can write a 5-step explanation or so in a couple of days.
