So i have been enjoying the M 2000 so far but small question

Do we have to play with the flaps with this FBW aircraft ?

What are the take off and landing speed approximatly, which AoA also for landing ?

thanks

It seems I must ask to put a sticky thats says:

The M-2000C does not have flaps. :P

Take-off speed varies on weight.

You just put the throttle to full afterburners

at 120 knots, you pitch up until the inverted T meets the horizon line.

The aircraft will automatically lift off as soon as it achieves the speed it needs without you having to do anything else.

For landings, the HUD must be in APP mode.

Since in APP mode the heading scale, airspeed and altitude indicators will drop down to the center of the HUD, move the seat up until you see them back at the top of the combiner glass.

To achieve landing AOA put the FPM and the acceleration chevrons in the AOA brackets:

FPM: -O-

Accel chevrons: > <

AOA brackets: ] [

The must look like this: >] -O- [<

Then you are at the correct landing AOA: 14°

Don't worry about landing speed. At that AOA you will achieve it automatically.

Remember to move the seat up, otherwise you won't be able to see the runway.

I thought it was at least flaperon, and in the command list you still have flaps . That is why i was confused

And for the landing ?

I believe it has Slats instead of flaps and they are by default in Auto and will deploy to increase wing area at the appropriate speed.

I can tell you it is real hard to get stopped if you land with too much fuel. I landed with 3 external tanks that I had not burned the fuel out of and it was very difficult to get slowed down even using airbrakes because my landing speed was high due to the weight.

It's confusing a lot of people probably because there's a bind for flaps in the controls.

They come in the default_keyboard_binding.lua for all aircraft.

I don't know how to disable them for the especific case of the M-2000C

All tailless deltas do not have flaps AFAIK. Mirage III/5/2000, Nesher, Kafir, F-102/106, F-4 Skyray, etc.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Don't load the base_<devicetype>_binding.lua in your Input\default.lua's. Just take the lines you really need from it - if you want to utilize the DCS default (FC3?) behaviours. You probably would not want to handle the iCommands in there by yourself - could perhaps lead to strange errors - better define your own iCommands.

But you might perhaps want instead to load the common_<devicetype>_binding.lua instead (which atm is indirectly loaded via base_<devicetype>_binding.lua) to get stuff like Chat and so on.

-to nit-pick....there are exceptions ;)

Canard Deltas have their TE surfaces act as Ailerons/Elevators & Flaps in conjunction with LE slats and of course the Canards - all controlled by the FBW. For take off and landing and, for most maneuvering they configure to provide Positive Lift vectors as apposed to standard ailerons which provide negative lift.
