Kindred Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/06/05/first_benchmarks_conroe_vs_fx-62/page5.html Intel still have some punches left ;)
NEODARK Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Well definitelly. core2 is a new type of architecture. If you think about it in retrospective, it's a bit funny since Intel went back to PIII to go forward. :)
WhiskeyRomeo Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Don't forget that AMD is still on 90 nanometer die process and Intel is now on 65nm. It will be interesting to see how well the AMD 65nm CPUs match up against the Intel 65nm CPUs when the AMDs start showing up in the first half of '07.
Nate Dogg Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Don't you just love how the results don't change much between res? makes me wonder what settings they used? Either way i wouldn't mind and extra 15fps over a FX62 but not worth a whole new system just yet
NEODARK Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Thats why I dont like canned benchmarks. The important thing though, isnt't max FPS, but MINIMUM..
9thAF_Angel Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 ok, ive been looking everywhere and i cant find a solid release date on this chip. Some sites are saying July 2006 but does anyone know an exact date? Im banking that it'll be out this month becasue thats when im ordering all my computer parts  Virtual 9th Airforce
Kindred Posted July 19, 2006 Author Posted July 19, 2006 Good thing I waited before getting my upgrade. I'm hunting some of my suppliers as we speak, there not sure when it will be out to the general public. But reckon it will be soon, just before Black Shark come out, is my bet:P;)
33rd_bratpfanne. Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Official release Date is July 27, but i cant tell you wether there will be many CPU´s available for retail. S! Brati "Helicopters can't fly; they're just so ugly the earth repels them." (THX Rich  )
NEODARK Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Nope, they all went to dell, and if you are lucky to find them in retail, the availability is going to give them a HUGE premium. I doubt we will start seeing any of these in the mainstream @ MSRP until september at least.
