Well definitelly.

 

core2 is a new type of architecture. If you think about it in retrospective, it's a bit funny since Intel went back to PIII to go forward. :)

Don't forget that AMD is still on 90 nanometer die process and Intel is now on 65nm.

It will be interesting to see how well the AMD 65nm CPUs match up against the Intel 65nm CPUs when the AMDs start showing up in the first half of '07.

Don't you just love how the results don't change much between res? makes me wonder what settings they used?

Either way i wouldn't mind and extra 15fps over a FX62 but not worth a whole new system just yet

ok, ive been looking everywhere and i cant find a solid release date on this chip. Some sites are saying July 2006 but does anyone know an exact date? Im banking that it'll be out this month becasue thats when im ordering all my computer parts :unsure:

Good thing I waited before getting my upgrade. I'm hunting some of my suppliers as we speak, there not sure when it will be out to the general public. But reckon it will be soon, just before Black Shark come out, is my bet:P;)

Official release Date is July 27, but i cant tell you wether there will be many CPU´s available for retail.

Nope, they all went to dell, and if you are lucky to find them in retail, the availability is going to give them a HUGE premium.

 

I doubt we will start seeing any of these in the mainstream @ MSRP until september at least.
