Make sure Key is bound to ED Login,

If all else fails, use DCS Updater command line.

It is bound to ED. I had all my modules working in OpenBeta.

I can't get my head around Updater command line :http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030

should I only "update" or "Install a Specific Module" ?

If don't want to mess with "cmd line" is there another way?

install

do not use the update command paramerer with modules.

Im in office, but if no one else does,, I can upload a bat file when I get off in about 5 hours.

youd just have to download place in dcs main folder and double click.

I found a work-around, of sorts, to this module manger issue:

I went back to my account and made sure all module keys were bound to my login.

In every instance, except one, that made all my DCS purchases show up.

The Belsimtek Mi-8 simply does not appear in the module manager, even though my key is bound and I have plenty of activations left. So I used the command prompt to manually install it, which worked.

I could not find a direct path to binding non-DCS keys to my login on the DCS website, so I fudged a little, by using the DCS page for binding their keys, and it worked.

Just click on the "details" for any order, and use that page to check for the license number of the DCS purchase you are using. Highlight the key number, and check the copied DCS key license number in the "license check" on the left side of that page.

That will bring up another page, with another "license check" box, use that blank box for pasting the non-DCS key into.

It will let you bind a key (if it recognizes it) to your account for a Steam key.

Maybe someday that path (i.e. binding non-DCS keys to login) will be made a bit more direct, but for now, this simple work-around also functions.

I just put this here as well since it's relevant to the problems at hand, and I hope I can make someone happy with it.

Another workaround for the Module Manager bug if you bought your keys from Steam and/or if DCS Updater is on the fritz.

UPDATE: I made it work!

I deinstalled and deactivated my DCS and started from a fresh install (Version 1.5.2.48726)

Flaming Cliffs 3 installed right of the bat, with option to install Su-27 Ultimate Argument through the Module Manager.

But now I had problems with all my other modules. It told me:

i dont own Mig-21 (I do own it)

THe FW-190D-9 disappeared from the module manager (which i own as well)

I unbound the Dora from my account, logged into DCS World and refreshed the store. There it was: I could buy Dora.

Thrn I bound the key to my account (again), and it disappeared on me again.

When I tried to force dcs updater.exe to download them through the command line, I again experienced DCS starting immediatly followed by a black screen.

All these modules, except FC3, are Steam keys used in the standalone version of DCS by the way. FC3 was purchased through the ED website.

Through experimenting, I found the answer and it is repeatable with my other modules.

Step 1) Unbind the key from the account

Step 2) Start DCS World, go into Module Manager and refresh your account. Quit DCS.

Step 3) Bind the key again to your account.

Step 4) Force DCS updater to download the module and quit it through Task Manager

Step 5) Start DCS WOrld, go into Module Manager and refresh your account. It should be enabled to download.

The cost was a day of my life, and a sincere hatred towards the lack of dedicated installers.

I would fix this problem ASAP guys.

After spending 8,5 hours on this problem on the last day of the year. I've become seriously afraid of buying modules ever again. But i'm happy, at least I can play with what I paid for. pilotfly.gif
