Hey folks, could someone let me know what dials/switches have to be where for the ILS to appear on the HUD?

 

I have teh ILS freq input at Nellis, INS set to CP, (read that in the manual) what else am I missing?

Is Nellis set as the "Landing" WP in the mission editor?

Be sure to be in "Approach" mode.

 

Landing waypoint is only needed for the synthetic runway, not for the ILS queue per se.

Yeah, im not looking for the synthetic runway atm and just to confirm spiddx, are you referring to the APP mode on the PCA?

Yes approach mode is the APP button on PCA

Hrm. I can only get it to appear if I do a warm/air start. If I start from the ground, I can't get the synthetic runway to appear. Seems like I hit the "APP" button, but it's not actually putting me into approach mode.

 

ILS is tuned in

INS is enabled

waypoint selected

waypoint is a "Landing" waypoint

master arm is off

APP is enabled

i'm lined up

...

 

what am I missing?

Make sure that the HUD is not in test mode! To turn on the HUD, just click the button once. The second click is some "test" mode.
