garyn123 Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Hi All, in FC3, A-10A, MK82 bombs ... I'm trying to do CCRP bombing. I'm not able to get pressing 'enter' to create a ground target lock. I press 7 (air to ground mode), press 'D' to select the MK82 bomb, slew the ridicule using ",./:", but when I then press 'enter' or flight stick button 3 no square appears on the ground to indicate a target lock. Any ideas as to what the common mistakes are that I might be making? Thanks, Gary
Ironhand Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 The target can't be too far away, otherwise it won;t work. And don't forget to press "O" after you hit "Enter". garyn123 Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 Hi again, Thanks for your reply. It didn't fix my issue. I've also tried checking for control conflicts for the 'enter' key, reassigning the 'lock target' to a different key, deleted old custom input settings from \Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\a-10a folder. Any other things I might try? Best, Gary

It's possible that it might have nothing to do with you setup. Or is this happening in every mission? If it's happening in all missions, then the problem is probably on your end. garyn123 Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 Again ... thanks! Unfortunately it happens in all missions. Perhaps this is important - I have both DCS World 1.5 and 2.0 installed (on the same PC) and it happens in both, however the very first time I tried it, after a fresh install, (I believe in 2.0) it worked correctly, once, then stopped working since then. DCS support says its working correctly on their end, and for other users, so I'm sure its some odd thing particular to me. The 'lock target' function is also mapped to my Joy stick 'button 3' and it doesn't work that way either. If you have any other thoughts please share. Best, Gary

The only difference is that I haven't tried it with the A-10 in 2.0. So I'll do that and see if it screws anything up. I'll let you know tomorrow most likely. What you might want to do is create a simple mission that you can fly with just the keyboard. Then disconnect your flightstick and give it a go. See what happens. But before you try that (if you do), make a quick flight doing what you normally do and, then, save the track file and upload it here. I'll see if it behaves the same on my end. Ironhand Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 FWIW, I set up a mission in 2.0 and flew it. Everything worked as advertised. I then exited and set up a mission in 1.5. That one worked as advertised as well. So it doesn't seem that using 2.0 screws up anything in 1.5. garyn123 Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 I put a fresh install of 1.5 on a different PC than the original one, and it doesn't work ... so its something I'm doing wrong. I will review my process (again!!!), and report back. Thanks, Gary

Headwarp Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Sooo I was having this same issue in FC3... well not CCRP, but trying to manually target with mavericks.. when I tried to use the pipper to lock the "target" button would only cycle between targets. Turns out it's a bug with "Game Avionics Mode"... disabling Game Avionics mode in gameplay options made the target function work like normal, and I'm going to bet it will fix your CCRP problems as well, as the thread I read said both issues were caused by game avionics mode. I hope this gets fixed because I'm a noob, and I liked that little radar with my nav waypoints in the upper right hand part of my screen.. now I have to learn how to fly without it >.< Spoiler Win 11 Pro, z790 i9 13900k, RTX 4090 , 64GB DDR 6400GB, OS and DCS are on separate pci-e 4.0 drives Sim hardware - VKB MCG Ultimate with 200mm extension, Virpil T-50CM3 Dual throttles. garyn123 Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 By the way, I'm finding so many hurdles in learning this game (and I'm a pretty patient guy) ... if you know of any up to date training tracks available SPECIFICALLY for FC3 / A-10A on either DCS 1.5 or 2.0, please let me know. I think its an opportunity for someone to create as I'd gladly pay for quality training that is current and specific to what I'd like to learn. Again - THANKS! Gary
