m1tp2king Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 maybe I am missing something here ?? but if you use a Virtual reality headset, you can not see the keyboard or joystick ??? that for me means I must stick with traditional screens ?? what do you think ???
ShuRugal Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Don't know about you, but I rarely look at the keyboard when typing, and i never look at my HOTAS when flying.
luckyhendrix Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Yes, you should use a hotas setup, so that you almost don't have to touch the keyboard Sent from my XT1072 using Tapatalk
=DECOY= Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 i have been using the DK2 Rift for over a year, and have ordered the CV1, and firstly yes your right not being able to see the keyboard can be a pain. BUT if you use Hotas then you dont need to use the keyboard in game, and when you start dcs now the menu is clear so really you dont need to take off the headset at all (until you get sick lol ) plus after using the rift for a while your muscle memory really improves so finding a pacific button on the keyboard is like riding a bike:thumbup: Water cooled i9-9900K | Maximus Code XI MB | RTX3090 | 64GB | HP Reverb G2

It works but I'm sure their is non trainable people out their so best for new comers to test it out first. Intel 8700k @5ghz, 32gb ram, 1080ti, Rift S

Oesau Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Yes its one of the challenges with VR and the idea that HTC Vive is going with is a potential winner (though to be tested). The idea that people should adapt and use muscle memory works for some but not all - therefore the technology should (and needs to for mainstream adoption in the future) have a way to interact with the real world or provide virtual rendering of the interfaces (or provide a virtual render with touch gloves that provide tactile input).
