So this might be a dumb question..but once you have loaded the GSh-23L by firing one of the loading cartridges, is the only (and appropriate) way to make the gun "safe" by moving the GSh-23L (GUN) power switch to OFF?

Not sure. I think there's a master arm switch or something for all weapons, but I could be wrong.

I DO know if your landing gear is down your gun won't fire. (otherwise you'd blow off your nose wheel.)

The gun safe isn't modeled.

In the stick seems that it lacks a shortcut linked to the safe/fire position.

These positions seem to be linked to the reload buttons.

Maybe can be addressed in the next revision of the controls alongside with other controls.

Thanks guys. I was also exploring another thing...when you have the UPK-23-250 pods mounted to the pylons, I know that the control panel on the canopy bow controls the power, but I would have thought you'd also have to have the PYLON power switch on the right sub-panel on as well for the guns to operate (you don't). So there must be a separate wiring path from the control box above your head to the guns (?).

The Mig-21 gun safety is like in Ka-50 - folding the trigger manually up - for some reason this is not modeled correctly, no button or key for the function...

Probable some beta tester "trigerhappy" suggest the actual "gamey" way. :)

The hardcore simmer-solution is to get a joystick with a folding trigger ;)

As a side note, the weapon release button on the stick in the 21 has a cover, and there's keybindings for flipping it on/off. Though pressing the bound release button flips the cover and triggers the button :(
