Enduro14 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Way I see it and have read it oculus for better visual and vive for the walk around experience. I will stick with my oculus pre order and judge it when I have it on my head. Allot of work on software ends needs to be done before April Intel 8700k @5ghz, 32gb ram, 1080ti, Rift S
Bisch Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 So far Im about to go for the vive and just hope price will hurt as less as possible. Im not an exclusive simmer and really hope for great new workout possibilties that might show up like boxing, sword fighting, being able to combine with real life gear (rowing machine, ergometer...). My biggest dream would be online sparring against friends :) Well, in the end these ideas are sims too ;) Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk Win 10 Pro | Trustmaster Warthog | MFG Rudders | VivePro Wireless Gear Lens modded | 1080ti OC Asus | 32 GB DD4 RAM | i7 9700 | Razer Chroma Orbweaver Keypad | Corsair KB | Derek Switchbox | USB Keypad | Logitech 502 | Jetseat with SimShaker Software | TrackIR5 | Autotkey | Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs | Monstertech Mounts | Saitek Throttle Quadrant
Irregular programming Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I just got a DK2 for cheap and tried it out on the Huey was the scariest thing I've done, I think it's the disconnect between flying and not flying that does it, I've piloted a real helicopter with no doors and no scares, also got a bit sea sick which I was surprised about because I've never had issues before. Was extremely fun though, I'm pretty sure the Oculus will support everything the Vive does in the end, so I hope it will not matter too much which one you chose, I've preordered the Oculus at least.
hansangb Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 @14thJar, I too am glad they delayed the controllers. I don't need them. And like I mentioned, I wish I could have gotten it cheaper w/o the stupid (to me) games, and Xbox One controller (already have it). @IrregularProg, hit RCTRL-Break (I think that's it, maybe Pause?) and look at the FPS counter. Reduce the detail settings (like civ traffic, water, smoke, etc.) until you get 75FPS. The motion sickness should go away. I was in the same boat until I got to 75FPS. And also, make sure you measured you IPD and set it using the Oculus Rift utility. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
