SkateZilla Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Anyone tried any of their products? https://www.facebook.com/OpenSourceVR/ http://www.digitaltrends.com/virtual-reality/osvr-hacker-dev-kit-hands-on/#ixzz3wdKG9Xlc I Suspect the Single 1080p Screen would cause issues in DCS Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
wormeaten Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Yes. It is like DK2. 1080p have approximate little bit above 400ppi what have screendoor effect. CV1 have approximate 530ppi so it is around 30% better picture. If they start to build 1440p 530ppi screens in OSVR that will be improvement.

I'm soooo ready to jump ship from Oculus to OSVR, specially if it will have a better screen :)
Greekbull Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Interested to see this release...after coming from 4K in Max settings I made the difficult decision to go back to my 50" 4K from CV1. VR is amazing! And there is no doubt it is the future but I may be waiting another year or so to do another very high HP build and go with VR when we we 4K... dot Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 I'd be happy even if they come out with 2560xRGBx1440 screen. compared to Vive and Rift that would be a huge improvement! Vive and rift have 2160 x 1200 pentile screen so: 2160 x 1200 x 2 = 5184000 subpixels 2560 x rgb x 1440 x 3 = 11059200 subpixels which should result in much better image than what we're seeing now.
