Witchking Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 hey guys, an amazing video. : http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=11954&type=wmv This is soo freakin amazing. Honestly, I was blown away by the texturing process. I would love to have a tool like that. :) I always wondered how game developers made textures. This is definately a full video tutorial of 3d modelling. zaelu Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 I think for the first part of the modeling was used 3ds max then something like z-brush. For texture making that looked like photoshop. Thing is, modeling organic "meshes" is differnt than modeling cars or aircrafts after blue prints, especialy when precission is the word of the day. When modeling an aircraft there is no "fantasy at work". In that movie you see on fast forward a guy modeling something not as precise as an aircraft and nevertheless a guy that knows his job. You realy have to know where to put/spend those polys, although it seems he's moving his hand like he's doing a schetch he is not; he knows how an ankle is done in X polys, etc. Same is with an aircraft but more atention to precission and details is needed, especialy when you have a big budget of 55000 polys and you can easely run out of them carelesly :).
