Thank you for an amazing campaign. I had played the old free version some time ago and as soon as I saw it released as a DLC went ahead and bought it. Really, the best quality campaigns in DCS. ED should pay you to write all their campaigns from now on.

I just finished the mission S05 Hammerfall patrol 1.5. There is one thing that I did not like at all and hope it will be changed in future updates.

There are two trucks that are indestructible. One is next to the main force attacking Echo, slightly north of the armored buildings/barracks. The other is at the mortar position.

This I found extremely annoying. It breaks immersion and seems out of place in a campaign giving attention to detail and realism.

Having destroyed the ZSUs, the convoy and all the mortars, I was not getting any feedback on comms. I was expecting either Overloard or Echo 2 to tell me when the threat was neutralized, but they were not. So, I figured there was more to kill and started gunning and then bombing the trucks until I realized that they cannot be killed. I was actually out of ammo at this point and had to replay the mission.

It's very reasonable to target those trucks. You see them on your TGP, no AA threats observed, so you go guns on them. It is not immediately obvious that they just don't die; you think your gunning skills are to blame.

The trucks should be destructible. However, I do realize this may require a different dialogue for indicating success, which may be difficult to obtain voice over for. If it is possible to fix this issue, please do so.

Hey! Thanks a lot for the comment and for your kind words! TBH I expected total criticism seeing the title :P

My answer below.

Usually I am the last one to do things like indestructible enemies :) but here I had to figure out a way to deliver ammo to infantry and three houses shooting at Echo 2, as currently there is no way to just tick the box 'unlimited ammo'. So I figured out I'd rather have an indestructible truck than no more tracers after a few minutes of firefight.

Having said that the two trucks near the houses are destructible once the barracks are destroyed, wing'mam should call then out (they are going away from the frey) and from that point they are killable.

The mortar one - I agree, I will make it killable once any part of the mortar team is destroyes. Omission on my part and congrats for being so throughout in seeking targets!

Thanks once again for your remarks, these are really valuable and help me improve The Enemy Within and make future campaigns better. Keep then coming! Of course with lots of praises before :smilewink:

Read my post about hammerfall 2 and it is actually meant for this mission.

Echo2 waypoint is off of the actual coords of the checkpoint. The coords given in the mission briefing are spot on though. Is this a design decision or an oversight?

Wrong (Echo2 waypoint selected)

Correct (my own created waypoint selected)

My answer:

Remember that waypoint on the FP is at altitude of 10 or 15 000 feet, so it won't be directly over Echo 2 - it is in 3-dimensional space. The coordinates are for ground level and are spot on. I think that is where the difference comes from and is intentional.

Could you check if this is correct? My flightplan waypoint was on the slope of a mountain, not in the air. On the screenshots you can see the LL coords on the TGP - they differ.

For me it was necessary to refly the mission because I was unable to find Echo2.

Still, the campaign is very, very enjoyable.

I've checked it and it looked OK on my end, will do that again though.

Glad you like it and thanks for feedback!

BTW, I have updated the part with invincible trucks, as per your advice!

Hi Baltic,

first off, I'm a big fan of this campaign as I played through most of the original free version, before jumping right in again after the paid version became available.

I also had the same problems with this particular mission and I'd really like to fly your updated version. But how does it update? Given that is gets installed through the module manager, can I assume that updates are managed by DCS_update.exe? Or can I install something manually?

Thanks for your awesome work!

If I understand the logic correctly, it should be done together with the 1.52 update, just like all the modules. Unfortunately, I don't know too much about technical side, I have submitted the campaign with a few bug fixes. I'll check and get back to you!
