apolloace Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Can somebody please guide me how to change the colour of the HUD in A10C? Sometimes the default colour is very difficult to read. :) :) Rig - I7-9700K/GIGABYTE Z390D/RTX-2080 SUPER/32-GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE RAM/1-TB SSD Mods - A10C / F18C / AV8B / Mig21 / Su33 / SC / F14B

Texac Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 You can change the hud color to orange if you set the HUD to night. It's somewhere under the TGP on/off switch. You have to change a file to get another color but don't know how to do it. There was a Thread in the ED Forums about that. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=68562 - My Skins/Liveries - Improved F-16C Texture Template • Texac on YouTube •
Bob Denny Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Oh I am so glad to see others have my problem. I too have difficulty seeing the HUD and I always switch to night mode but even this is not enough when flying over snow. Plus, strictly speaking, powering down with the night filter can damage the HUD. I know this doesn't happen in DCS. I'm a new user so I am watching this for an answer from an experienced user.
mondaysoff Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Hi guys, I don't get to fly the A-10 so much at the moment, as I am hooked on rotors and can't seem to get away, but when I do I use black text and it works fine for me. This will give you some idea about RGB to Hex http://www.javascripter.net/faq/rgbtohex.htm I'm not to clever with all this computer coding and stuff, but this made a little sense to me so I attach my file (HUD_init) that I put together using black text. It works in version 1.5.2. I use it via JSGME, If you don't, just drop the files into the path below after backing up the A-10C's Cockpit folder The full path, DCS World/Mods/aircraft/A-10C/Cockpit/Scripts/HUD/Indicator. From the indicator folder there is an .lua file called HD_init, that is where the magic is applied, I think there are four lines of hex code near the bottom that can be played with, it's been a long time since I did this. Please make a back up first. In my attached hud mod is another changed attribute to the text size making it slightly larger to see (HUD_definitions.lua) I hope this info helps you out.HUD_definitions.luaHUD_init.lua

hancerPL Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Hey. There is a small problem with the files. After each "dcs_updater.exe repair" the file "HUD_init.lua" is replaced with the original one and the green color returns. Specialization A-10C https://vbw304.pl/
ex81 Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 That`s pretty normal. Make a copy of the edited file and replace the original every time a repair or update did delete the modded one. Wrench Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 There's a thread all about JSGME (Generic Mod Enabler) which will walk you through setting it up. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98607 Carrier Script.
