aileron Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 How do I turn down jet aircraft engine noise when in external view in 2.0, 1.5? Its blowing my ears out. Especially when I have on a headset. I've searched around (obviously my googlefu is sucking today) and some people are complaining but I don't see an answer to this.
Apache600 Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 In settings -> Audio -> World (I turn mine down to 80%, leaving everything else at 100% ... except for music, that goes to 0% because it get's a bit redundant when in Mission Editor :P) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The Museum Relic Campaign: --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=164322 Community Missions (SP & MP) --> https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=205546
aileron Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) I tried that. Turning World audio to 0% and the jet is still just as loud as ever. Both in 1.5 and 2.0 ETA: I just figured it out... Literally if I make a change to the audio then exit DCS, then restart it, my audio has changed. Sheesh. Apache600 thanks for the response. I think I should report this as a bug. Gonna play with it a bit more before I do. Edited January 27, 2016 by aileron 1
Apache600 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 No problem! Glad you can prevent further hearing loss :) Keep in mind though, that there are a lot of games out there that require a restart in order for certain changes to go in effect. And this has been a requirement for DCS, for changes made in that options menu, since before v1.2xx even. DayGlow Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 was pulling my hair out trying to figure this out as well. "It takes a big man to admit he is wrong...I'm not a big man" Chevy Chase, Fletch Lives 5800X3D - 64gb ram - RTX3080 - Windows 11
DayGlow Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 There had to be a better distinction between external and internal audio. I want my engines to be loud when I have my canopy open, but very fair with it closed. Turn down world audio and it's quiet no matter what. I remember a bigger difference pre 1.5 "It takes a big man to admit he is wrong...I'm not a big man" Chevy Chase, Fletch Lives 5800X3D - 64gb ram - RTX3080 - Windows 11
