Nealius Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 I've been flying the Tshkinvali mission a few times and noticed that the compass is on average 20 degrees off, and one time was even 236 degrees off! -Actual heading 172; Compass reading 200 -Actual heading 189; Compass reading 169 -Actual heading 017; Compass reading 357 -Actual heading 020; Compass reading 000 -Actual heading 005; Compass reading 129 The average of 20 degrees off is reproduceable. The whopper I have only seen once.
kontiuka Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Have you been giving the compass 3 minutes to align from start up?
Beagle One Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 The compass will also show wrong if you pull too much violent manouvers. Its a feature not a bug. The longer you give it time to alling on the ground the better it will work afterwards.
Nealius Posted February 1, 2016 Author Posted February 1, 2016 I can't find anything in the A or T manuals about a three minute align time, so that must be what I'm skipping if that's the case. Need to adjust the mission time. Five minutes is not enough for a ramp start.
Nealius Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 Yeah, double-checked the manuals. Someone needs to include the bit about a 3-minute align because it is NOT in the manuals.
