SkateZilla Posted July 9, 2018 Author Posted July 9, 2018 (edited) The App literally scans for Process "DCS", "DCS_Updater" and "ModelViewer". Thats it, if its running, it sets the App as running until it stops. The problem isnt the app, its functioning as coded. The issue is DCS Process isnt being terminated correctly on your system. Ive been trying to re produce this and havent been able to, I force my dcs to crash, generate logs, and after all thats finished, App sees DCS closes and restores. Rebooting your PC doesnt fix the App, it clears DCS Process from running. This also the reason why when updating it would say the dcs.exe is locked and cannot move/delete or in use by another process. SkateZilla Posted July 9, 2018 Author Posted July 9, 2018 (edited) 1.1.0.1007 Online (Here and Update Server). Before I add any more new things, I need to look into the Update Code, seems hit and miss sometimes. I have instances where it would prompt for update, download new version, but still show the same version number, and basically put it self in a loop, because it would not be able to over-write itself. I may have to pull the auto update downloading part out of the app until I fix the problem, appears to be permissions again, it cannot rename/delete the app unless running from specific folder(s). If Anything, I re-integrate the mini-updater, as a Separate App To Do everything, since the App Seems to not be able to overwrite itself while running. imacken Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 Skate, tried the new version, and when I select 'Force Close DCS' I just got the permission denied error. So, I ran utility as admin, then I didn't get the error, but nothing happened. DCS is apparently still running. Can you tell me where I would see this DCS process running, as there is nothing showing in TM? EDIT: Sorry, update. Yes, it does kill the 'DCS' process. If Yes is Chosen, -App Will download the Latest Version of the SZGS Updater from the Server, (17 kb) -Launch the SZGS Updater and Close itself. -SZGS Updater will Move/Rename DCS Updater Utility to /Saved Games/DCS Updater Utility/Backup/ Folder. -SZGS Updater Will download the Version from the Webserver -SZGS Will Launch the New DCS Updater Utility and Close Itself. -Updater Utility Will Move/Rename the SZGS Updater EXE to the /Saved Ganes/DCS Updater Utility/Backup Folder. SZGS Updater wont be bundled w/ DCS Updater Utility Application in Zip Folder Here, it's 17kb on the server, and that way the app will automatically download the latest version I deploy to the server, and users can continue to keep the Utility on their Desktop w/o an Extra EXE having to be there. This will hopefully resolve update / auto updates from this build forward so I can start working on other exceptions and issues discussed. Also may need to Delete and Re-do User Settings due to changes made in the app code. This is bizarre, perhaps it's my system, but I followed the simple instructions and placed it in a folder - on the same drive, checked the settings you advised on and there was no entry. To clarify, I'd clicked on the link for the latest build and unpacked, then ran the utility. Even downloaded the first build to try out and while the main screen loaded, but the utility didn't find the installation folder. I'm pretty much stumped, as this seems to be straightforward.

Yogiyosh Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Try the 06.01.2018 Build, that was the first build with the newer code, Anything prior to that was .Net 4.5 Frame work, Ok, thanks for the response and help, but after trying that and checking to see which .NET Framework I had installed, I've come to the conclusion that your app is not going to run on my machine, for whatever weird reason that may be. Which, I must add, is disappointing for me as I really like the idea of your work. I'm not entirely sure what the issue is, especially if the app runs on most others' machines, so I can only conclude there's something my end that is blocking or crashing the file. Unfortunately, it means I'm going to have to give up and maybe try at a later version in future :( Thanks again for your help.

SkateZilla Posted July 13, 2018 Author Posted July 13, 2018 (edited) So w/ New added Features being Coded in: -Add Option To Startup Normal or Startup Minimized -Add Option To Minimize and Restore App on DCS Launches -Added TrackIR Default Install Location Detection -Added TeamSpeak Default Install Location Detection -Added Option to Launch External Apps when Launching DCS I'm also Looking at adding other software, For now, TrackIR and TeamSpeak will check the default install locations (will add custom boxes later, likely before public build, but cant promise). Will have check boxes, so only checked items will launch before dcs. Keep in Mind, I Really only want to add supported APIs, Things Like OpenTrack,Freetrack,FaceTrackNoIR are not supported by ED, so they will not be added. When External Applications are Detected, the Logo will show in color w/ Checkbox. When External Applications are Not Detected, the Logo will show in dim grey w/o Checkbox.
