tflash Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 I read this interesting article on the Belarus air force. They fly an upgraded Mig-29BM (B stands for Belarus) that has guided air-to-ground capablilities. But what intrigues me is that their standard Flanker is called "Su-27P". I'ld like to know what is specific to this version? I'm not talking about the planned upgrade that is foreseen for these Flankers, but just the standard Belarus model. Does anyone know something about this variant? Or is it identical to the Su-27 we are flying in Lockon? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

tflash Posted July 30, 2006 Author Posted July 30, 2006 Many thanks for the interesting info! I guess what's in your drawing is partially implemented in Lockon in combination with Awacs? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Kusch Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 " Partially" is good word ;) Ps; "Marshroot" nav system: 1 - Permitted range according to remaining fuel 2 - Displacement from the assigned course 3 - Waypoint with ID number 4 - Assigned course line (?) 5 - Airport with ID number 6 - Radio beacon with ID number 7 - Scale: 1 cm on screen = 50 km 8 - friendly wingmen with velocity vector, altitude line, and ID number* 9 - another group of friendly aircraft with velocity vector, ID number (2), quantity of aircraft in the group (4) * - in the "Narciss-M" system, friendly aircraft are indicated with a circle at the bottom of the symbol, and the true airspeed of each is shown in a rectangle in the lower right corner of the display screen. Pilotasso Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Wow! We need this sh*t in Lockon! It would also mean you wouldnt get instantaneous IFF during engaments, nor could you fire at max range due to this same reason. ;) .
Kenan Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 It would also mean you wouldnt get instantaneous IFF during engaments, nor could you fire at max range due to this same reason. ;) I don't care about that. I want it to be as realisticly modelled as possible. I see even the in-game HDD icons are completely wrong..they could have fixed that long time ago. Kusch Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Quote Han (ED team) in other forum: In real life datalink on russian planes can be receved from AWACS, Comand center, the other airplanes of sqadron. From open sources we know, thet there are two lewels of datalink exchange: Betwen comander of sqadron and comander of formation And betwen comander of formation and pilots of formation. Each pilot have a possibility to translate 10 targets to 4 preprogrammed planes of his squadron. (It can be understanded, if we'll look to the panel under the right arm of a pilot of Su-27 - 4 numered buttons for planes and 10 numered buttons for targets). Datalink give possibility to a pilot to know a air situation. Datalink give to a pilot all information about target, it is controling the radar and IRST scan zones (this we can know from open sources), controlling turning on and locking on moments of radar and IRST. It give to a pilot instrumental flight control directive comands to make an full atack manuver (from a take off, to a missile launch and CAC). ED sure it possesses information treat with sure unknown quantities of regards it did not it add this to product yet. Give me "flying telephone pole" (SA-2)!
