RagingBunny Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I don't think there is anything on the market quite as specific as this - the device in your picture is mounted to the side of a table, has room for the stick and throttle, all sorts of different toggles and switches... So no, I don't think there is anything out there like this. There are however smaller peripherals that give you lots of toggles and switches. Saitek has a bunch of USB flight peripherals with switches, and you could google VRinsight tact & toggle panel. This is an expensive solution however, if you're looking at getting as many switches as in that picture. But it really isn't hard to make something like that yourself. There is plenty of info on this forum about how to do that.
LynxDK Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I can help you with a custom Build if it has any interest, and isnt in a hurry :) Regards. LynxDK [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Instagram
Apache600 Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) Or you can just ask me. I built it :P Here's my initial post on it: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=136509 And I also made a video showcasing the control panel (The video shows me flying SU-25T with it, but it does all FC3 aircraft as well) Here's the youtube link for that: [ame] [/ame] Anything you want to know about it, feel free to ask. I've got a couple of other people interested in these too. They do take a while to put together. Asking price right now is $550 before shipping. I've shipped something similar to Norway a year ago ... it was kinda pricey to do so. Just a heads up. - Apache600 Edited February 13, 2016 by Apache600 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The Museum Relic Campaign: --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=164322 Community Missions (SP & MP) --> https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=205546
Mr_Burns Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 I love Apache's setup, have done a few "similar" myself but I like his. I keep thinking that touch screen is the way to go, with Capt Zeen profiles its the ultimate in modular at desktop level. I do intend to build a pit for the Typhoon but the HUD, MHDDs, Glare Sheilds and DWP all need to be on a touch screen as the buttons are all multi functional. If you are looking at $550 for a generic panel (I would imagine it wouldnt be much cheaper to build one yourself as Apache600 seem like a straight up guy) I would start thinking touch screen. just my 2c
1.JaVA_Platypus Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) I love this setup! Nice and general without the expensive CNC and backlighting crap. If you have the time, you can easily do it yourself. Altough I don't think it will be much cheaper. I really like the vid as well! p.s. what kind of 'thing' did you use to move around the laser targeting thingy? Edited February 13, 2016 by 1.JaVA_Platypus Happy Flying! :pilotfly:
Apache600 Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Thanks guys. @ Mr. Burns, As much as I love the functionality and versatility of a touch screen ... there's something about a physical switch or button that does it for me. It's the tactile feel that sets it apart. And I think you're right about touchscreen's probably probably being a cheaper alternative. You'll still have to mount or set it up somewhere. With this, I can combine it all into one package. @ Platypus, thanks for the compliments :) the "mini joystick" there is actually a Play station 3 thumb controller. I modified the top of it, because the thumb grip was difficult to move and make minute adjustments with.
