Roadrunner Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 hi gents, i know the Normany map is not that close, but i had an idea and thought those that are interested in WW2 combat might want to gather ideas for it. The mission idea would be like the Operation Cerberus that took place in 1942 and would fit perfectly on the normandy map. there would be a group of ships (i say group as i dont know what ships might be included from ED in the normandy map) that is set to break through the channel, while Axis and Ally flights try to sink/defend the ships. the ships might have some alternate routes, set up randomly on mission start and might even change the rooute randomly while they sail through the channel. depending on player numbers there could be AI flights that can be requested. i.e. a group of bombers to be escorted for the attack, or a group of additional fighter to defend. what do you think of it? got any ideas? any current WW2 server willing to pick that idea up? regards, RR [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "There's nothing to be gained by second guessing yourself. Daze58 Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Yes good plan for a mission. I would like to eventually see a war setup like what others have done in il2 where there are targets to hit that make a difference to the war effort meaning there are factories that produce planes and tanks ect... and after destroyed they stop producing, but they rebuild themselves in a given time frame. Destroyed bridges that keep tanks and transports from getting to the battle grounds ect... And with DCS you can return to base and rearm/refuel and go again... make the server 24/7 as a persistent war. One of the best things about WW2 planes/map will be the ability to get friends to try DCS as everyone I've talked to say the jets are too complicated for them. [HVY-A]Daze:pilotfly:
