Greetings!

Recently my GBU-38s always seem to miss by a couple of meters to any direction of the point I aim them at. It's as if they veer of just a little bit before impact.

Before (pre 1.5/2.0) I felt they were almost a bit too accurate, but lately they feel almost as if they are trolling me.

I can't notice any difference in altitude or speed I drop them from, if it's on a point generated via coordinates (steerpoint) or SPI generated via TGP.

Is it just me or are anyone else noticing the same?

Cheers!

The JDAMS aren't the most accurate bombs in the world, so if you are missing by 1, 2 or 3 meters, it's normal. That happens because the coordinates aren't so accurate. I mean, the coordinates work with squares, if the square is too big, it won't be accurate.

Imagine that every square is one different coordinate, for the bomb, whatever hit a bit more to the left or right, because it's the same coordinate. If you want precision, I recommend you use the GBU-12, or any LGB, they are very accurate.

The JDAMS (38 and 31) are enough to do what the pilots needs, if he wants precision, he uses LGB. Very simple.

You might try lasing the target before drop to update the SPI.

@OP Nice to see that this is modeled in the game. JDAM specifications say CEP (circular error probable) of 13 meters but ends up being about 7 meters in practical application. What you're observing sounds normal. For poor weather conditions or obstructions, JDAM's are probably your best bet. Otherwise I'd follow Vitormouraa's advice and go with the LGB's instead.

Aeger, yes, the best bomb in poor weather conditions are the JDAMS, they were made for that. I like the both, the practicality of the JDAM, which you just have to select the bomb and release it. That's very easy, for example static targets and etc, I'd rather the JDAM, but if I want penetration, precision, or moving targets, the LGBs are the best, the LGB in the A-10C has a lot more options, if you want to release 2, 3 bombs at the same time. You can have a lot more profiles. With JDAM, you just need to select the bomb, and release it, configure the laser, LS time and etc isn't needed. LGB is kinda, if you have visual of the target, you can use it, but if you don't, well.. I would say to not use. JDAMS don't need PODS, Targeting PODS, it doesn't need Lasers, just coordinates. Very Easy.

as I said before, I do love the both, I use them at the same time. Ahh I almost forgot, you can carry A LOT of GBU-12, kinda, 3 LGBs each pylon (TERs).

JDAMs are great because you can easily drop multiples in a single pass and above cloud cover, a miss is usually close enough to kill unarmored and lightly armored targets, with a tank you're definitely better off with an LGB for a direct hit.
