tordillo Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 How can I read the different heights (baro, delta, radar), because I select the different sources with the switch (ALT SCE) from the front panel but the reading in the altimeter doesn`t vary.
Deezle Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 That switch was never implemented. Habu_69 Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 So altitude is always AGL/radar on the HUD, or is it baro? Does the steam gage altimeter display baro? If not, then what is the purpose of setting baro pressure in the altimeter?
Eddie Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 That switch only affects the altitude source for IFFCC weapon delivery cues, it doesn't affect the altitude readout used by the pilot. Its implementation would be largely pointless in DCS.
Aginor Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 (edited) Maybe I missed something.... You can read radar altimeter information on your HUD, it is the number with the R after the last digit, in the lower right corner. It shows XXXX above 6000ft. The radar altimeter only works to 6000ft altitude. The other altitude on the HUD (right side) is the barometric one by default. Your altitude warning can be set to both radar alt information and barometrical. The steam gauge always displays barometric. EDIT: And what the others said of course, about that switch you mentioned.
