Hi guys, I know the A10C has programs that you can start or stop with the CMS but I wonder if there is any way to launch for example a flare everytime you push a button so I can manage "on the go" how they are dispensed...like in other planes (F-15, Mig.29, etc...) where as you push a button they get released one by one...

Thanks!!

Page 407 of the manual:

You need to edit the programs as described:

Edit a Program

- Using the NXT switch, select the program that you wish to edit.

- Right click on the DISP switch to toggle it to MENU.

- Press the SET button under the value you wish to edit (CHAF, FLAR, INTV, or CYCL).

- The current value will then flash.Use the NXT switch to edit the value.

- Press the RTN button to save your changes.

Otherwise you can use program H for Chaff (1 chaf/1 sec, 1 cicle) or J for Flares (same as chaff).

Its not possible like this. You need to program your CMS to release one flare only, that'll result in the same behaviour as the F-15.

As has been already said the CM are released according to the programs. What helps a lot (at least made my life much easier) is to write your own setting into the default program list which can be done by editing this file:

DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\A-10c\Cockpit\Scripts\AN_ALE40V\device\AN-ALE40V_params.lua

This way you don't need to program countermeasures at every mission start. Be aware that the DCS updates will overwrite this file but the backup will be stored in last _backup folder.

Sure, but I don't think it's possible to assign two different commands to chaffs and flares. He should always change program between chaffs and flares first, and then push the release button.

(but this is also the good part of a study sim and not a semi-arcade one!)

Ok, thanks for your help guys!!, I see, the most similar thing to what I want is to make a profile with 1 flare and then activate and desactivate the profile fast...I guess this is the way they do it in displays :P

Thanks!!

The programs already exist. IIRC, H, I, J, K are are all single and double flare or chaff programs.
