Hi guys, I have noticed that in the external view, when a particular zoom level is reached some parts of the plane skin get changed, like the black horse is swaped for a USAF logo and things like that...is quite weird. Am I the only one with this problem?? is a known issue??

It must be known, because this is a very old bug (and not for only A-10C).

Does that mean that 2 sets of textures are being loaded for each plane?

This is what Im talking about...the 2 screens were taken just with a liitle different zoom level and as you can see there is a "skin swap" depending on the zoom level...very weird...

So its a known issue right??it doesnt happen always nor with all skins...tusk skin by Ryan are fine (at least I have never noticed this problem with it)

Oh, no, that's another weird bug, but very similar my one. :)

Pretty sure its the texture not saved with the proper mipmaps. When saved properly, there are varying sizes of the texture to match up with the different lod images (varying degrees of detail based on distance). If the proper mipmap texture for that lod (read distance) isnt there, looks like its defaulting to a standard or last loaded skin.

By inspection of the edm files I can see that the base model is by default loading the 74th(FT) textures, but LOD 1 to 5 are loading the 25th(OS) textures while number 6 is again loading the 74th(FT). I can see this behaviour even in the modelviewer while switching LODs, but only until I select the skin manually (when descritpion.lua is being used and not the default assignment inside the edm). So the problem is only within those LOD files and there's nothing we can do.

i have been seeing this issue for years. 1.2 and 1.5. didin't try in 2.0
