I know the velocity vector is where my aircraft is heading, and I know the aircraft datum is the AoA but I seem to never have them match up like I see in other videos, the datum seems to always be high. Is this because its improperly pitched? Same question when it comes to the two being off to the left or right.

Also, Ive been watching all the tutorial videos I can on youtube, any others I can watch or download to the game? Thanks all for your help. I'm having a heck of a time fighting in this bird.

The aircraft datum is not your AoA.

The AoA represents the angular difference between the datum and the aircraft's true vector (in relation to the airflow).

When those two indicators are separated by a wide margin, your AoA is high. Increase speed/nose down your aircraft, otherwise you will increase drag and lose lift. If you do not correct, your aircraft will stall out during excessive AoA.

If you wish to fly at a low AoA, keep your speed up, and your angle of pitch low.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the F-15 shows AoA in cockpit units, which is +10. So if your AoA is 5 degrees then your AoA indicator will read 15. Also, your AoA will show up on your HUD only once you have passed 8 degrees (which will read as 18 on the HUD).

Ok, phew a lot more technical than flying the Sabre or P-51 lol I know I am doing it all wrong. Don't even want to get started about how bad with the radar I am as the enemy is shooting me before I am getting a shot off even in BVR TWS mode. Tacview is helpful but a lot of info I don't know what I'm looking at.

Anywhere I can post some Tacview results to get some feeback?
