Knubinator Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 If ED sold physical maps of Georgia, I'd buy them in a heartbeat. I have a sectional of Vegas (including NTTR), and while I guess I don't need it, it sure is nice to have a physical map to refer to. i7 4790k @ 4.4, 32GB RAM, RX480 GTR I fly it all.
NeilWillis Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Download the maps from any of the free access distributors on the internet, then get them printed by your local printers. Why do ED need to get involved?
BaD CrC Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 What really missing is the complete Georgian map extract from in game. Nobody ever succeeded to extract it and offer it as a giant picture or as a tiled one. At least not the one with the "new" tbilissi area. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
Knubinator Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 Why do ED need to get involved? Because it's their IP? I just figured that they would probably be able to put out a better product than I would be able to get at my local print shop. Besides, I am completely unable to find an image that is 1:500,000 at 100% scale. And besides all that, there is a lot of notation on a sectional that would need to be added. I feel like they would be able to have a graphic artist take a couple weeks and whip one up. i7 4790k @ 4.4, 32GB RAM, RX480 GTR I fly it all.
NeilWillis Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 But ED don't hold any copyrights to mapping, so the people to talk to are the map makers. Printing one off for your own use is fine, but for a commercial company to start selling printed maps is an entirely different animal. Bottom line is, that unless it is original artwork by ED, they'll never be providing us with maps.
Nealius Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 There's a massive map with all the ADFs and such in the User Files section. It's so big it frequently crashes my iPhone though...
