TheSnark Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 I am now in Mission 4 in the campaign of the Mi-8MTV, and I've noticed that the weather/start time has been the same for all four missions so far. Is this by design or is it a bug? I am playing in DCS 1.5.3.50487 So far the campaign has been a joy to fly!
DirtyFret Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 At least during my campaign play the weather was drastically different in the 1st vs 2nd mission. I cant hazard a guess about the time of day. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic109142_3.gif[/sIGPIC] PewPew, "Stick 'em with the pointy end" "Vasilissa the Beautiful" HD Cockpit
TheSnark Posted February 28, 2016 Author Posted February 28, 2016 Ah I see, well the first 3 campaign missions are also playable as single missions, could you check in 1.5.3 if you have that installed if the weather is any different between those 3?
TheSnark Posted February 29, 2016 Author Posted February 29, 2016 Had a look in the editor at the campaign missions and most start at 0900 and all use the same weather settings.
1.JaVA_Platypus Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 If you progress through the campaign, you will gradually fly more difficult missions. Including snowstorms and dropping flares at night in pitch-black circumstances. At the end you realize it was a flying school wich let you learn the aircraft in a natural and story driven way. Happy Flying! :pilotfly:
Nealius Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 I have no snowstorm mission in my Mi-8 campaign... I just checked the files as well, and all but four missions use the exact same temp/cloud coverage/pressure/wind speeds. I would like the windspeeds to be less, honestly. Between 10m and 2000m the wind speeds are set to 4m/s but DCS likes to double the wind speed, so I'm flying in 8m/s winds with my nose crabbed 20 degrees just to fly straight. Approaching to land feels like I'm drifting a tank on ice.
