Been meaning to do this for a long time, but have finally got round to it.

The guide is currently available to view on my website:

LINK

or you can download it from the DCS User Files page:

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1803739/

As stated, this is just to get the helicopter properly started and be able to fly - nothing fancy. You can view it online or download the zip file and view the images on your own device. They could also be converted for use in the kneeboard.

Hope it's found useful.

Good guide, thanks for taking the time!

Just two small remarks: I think the right hand engine fuel shutoff valve is missing.

And I would rearrange step 24 (Lower the collective completely) so that it appears prior to engine start, or else players might experience some very funny effects as the rotors spool up. :D

+1 on that. Else its a solid guide for Simmers New to the Shark.

Thanks.

I agree with your points. What I have done is simply take the default start-up tutorial mission and take screenshots and then put the instructions in, as they are given in the mission. So I didn't do this on which way I thought was best, but on which way the new guy is shown in the sim tutorial. I'll have a look re the right hand shut-off valve. I actually uploaded a load of irrelevant pics first time around, without realising!

I hope to cover all of the modules (except the two I don't have) as they seem to be quite popular - obviously something that people find useful. That includes myself, when I haven't flown a module for a while and can't remember the procedure

Thanks for that - you are right - I have fixed it now :)

Changing the procedure regarding the collective would be a larger rearrangement, but let's give our cadets some credit and give them the benefit of the doubt that they would not be so dumb as to start the engine with the collective up! :joystick:

Please note that the guides that were on my website are currently unavailable, as the website is being completely redesigned. They will be available once again when the new site is up (which may be a few weeks yet).

Apologies for any inconvenience in the meantime.

Thank You, kindly, for all the effort you put into this. I'm a returning virtual-pilot and I'm quite rusty.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help get the site up and running a bit faster for you ~ I'm a n experienced developer.

Thanks - glad they are being found useful (and hopefully more to come).

The only thing I'm missing for the website is time.

That's very kind of you, thank you.

Hope I'll have some more guides up soon - I'm snowed under at the moment, with other work (just opened a store on Amazon and it's non-stop hectic atm :) )
