crazyeddie Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 I have been playing around with blank textures and stuff like that for ages but one problem has always eluded me. How do I remove a texture from a model. For example, say I wanted to remove a flag that was flying from a ships mast, how could I do that. I cannot change the edm file, so it has to be a dds/bmp/tga type solution. I have tried creating texture files with alpha channels, but that does not work, instead of an empty space I get the Missing Texture file instead. I have tried everything I know and am now out of ideas.
Markindel Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Many mods do not use external textures in 3Ds Max, directly use the colors in interior 3dsmax. In this case to change the colors you have to have the source file.

That's how all re-skinning is done prior to a paint kit being available. Edit: oh, i misunderstood. What you're asking about is changing a geometry, not changing a texture. That requires the .max source files. My liveries, mods, and missions for DCS:World M-2000C English Cockpit | Extra Beacons Mod | Nav Kneeboard | Community A-4E
